Homes and Neighbourhood Panel

Hello fellow NCHA customers and welcome to our Homes and Neighbourhood Customer Panel!

My name is Simon Leyden and I am chairperson of the Panel. We are currently small in number, but big in heart, and we are looking for kindred spirits to join us on our vital journey to make lives better for NCHA customers.

Our panel are all NCHA customers who live across the East Midlands: in Nottingham, Leicester, Blidworth, Worksop and Kettering. We’re in a variety of NCHA accommodation: shared ownership homes, affordable housing, flats and Independent Living for Older People (ILOPS) developments.

As involved customers, we are passionate about making the lives of all NCHA customers happier and healthier ones, both in their homes and their local communities. We strive to give customers a strong and articulate voice when working in partnership with NCHA to improve the quality of housing and other services.

This might mean making sure that the newly created NCHA in-house repairs service reaches an outstanding standard, or that communal spaces are excellently maintained, or that as valued customers we are kept fully up to date when key decisions are taken by NCHA which impact our lives.

Our panel meets every two months in Nottingham. These meetings give panel members valuable opportunities to ask key questions to senior NCHA managers and to make suggestions on improving the quality of service delivery. You can also sit on interview panels for senior NCHA job appointments and help to choose which contractors NCHA uses for key services such as cleaning and gardening.

If you wish to join us on our journey, please email our friendly Customer Involvement team customerinvolvement@ncha.org.uk and they will get back to you.

Backed up by new government laws that give fresh powers to customers, this is an ideal moment to join us on our journey to raise the bar on the quality of social housing.
